Spa website in Tenerife: what it needs so guests book without calling

Someone looking for a spa in Tenerife is rarely in a hurry about the price: they're in a hurry to know whether they'll like the place. It might be a hotel guest searching "massage near me" from a sun lounger, a couple who want to give a spa day as a gift, or a German resident searching "Wellness Teneriffa" for their day off. All three decide with their eyes, on a phone, in their own language.

Here's what that client needs to find on your spa's website before they book, in the order they look for it.

Real photos of your space, not stock images

The first thing your client looks at is the place. The hot stones and candles from stock libraries show up on hundreds of spa sites: they say nothing about yours. You need real photos of your treatment rooms, your relaxation area, your pool or circuit if you have one, taken in natural light. It's what convinces people most.

And they have to load fast. A gallery of big photos on crowded hotel 4G is the quickest way to lose someone before they see anything. I explain it in the page speed guide.

A treatment list people understand

Your client doesn't know what an "oriental ritual" is or how it differs from a "Balinese massage". Every treatment should say:

If you offer a lot of treatments, group them (massages, facials, circuits, packages) and give your best sellers their own page. Someone searching "couples massage" wants to land on a page about exactly that.

Which languages should a spa website be in?

Your clients' languages. In Tenerife, much of a spa's clientele is hotel guests or foreign residents, so Spanish alone isn't enough. English is the minimum. If you get a lot of German clients, German makes the difference, and a word-for-word translation won't do: Germans search for "Wellness", "Anwendungen" or "Kurpaket", and your site has to use that vocabulary to show up. There's more on this in the multilingual website guide.

The copy should be written by a person, not a machine translator. A client who reads an odd sentence in their own language assumes the service will be just as careless.

Booking without a call, in the calendar you already use

Foreign clients would rather message than call. At the very least, a WhatsApp button on every page, for the question that always comes up before booking.

If you already use Booksy, Treatwell, Calendly or another booking system, the site sends people to that same calendar through its booking link or widget. One calendar, not two your front desk has to reconcile. If your system has neither, Google Calendar can bridge the gap; I check your specific system before I start.

Your own real-time booking, with a choice of therapist and a deposit to cut no-shows, is possible too, but that's a custom project.

Gift vouchers: the sale that happens without anyone at the door

A spa circuit or a massage is one of the easiest gifts to give, and it's almost always bought in a rush, the week before Christmas or a birthday. If your site doesn't sell it, that gift gets bought somewhere else. There are two ways to do it: a page that explains your vouchers and takes orders on WhatsApp, or online sales with built-in payment, which is a custom project.

Your Google profile, in the same languages

Lots of people search "spa" or "massage" on Google Maps and decide from the profile without ever opening your site. The right category, real opening hours, photos of your space and replies to reviews in the language people write to you in. It's all step by step in the Google Business Profile guide.

Which plan fits a spa?

If your spa works in Spanish and English and five pages are enough (home, treatments, vouchers, the space and contact), Plan Teide Esencial covers it, with WhatsApp and your Google profile set up. If you also need German or more pages for your treatments, Plan Teide Completo goes up to ten pages and three languages, and I write the copy. Your own booking system with deposits, or selling vouchers with online payment, is a custom project. Everything I do for the sector is on web design for spas in Tenerife.
